A little about me...
My name is Laura, I grew up in Melbourne, Australia but now live in Kent, UK.

I began sewing when I was young - sewing costumes and outfits for my dolls and teddy-bears.  I learnt my sewing skills from my mum, who is a very talented costume designer and maker, as well as the Artistic Director of a large ballet school in Melbourne.  I began helping her with bits and pieces in 2003, and by 2004 I was making costumes for myself and others.  Since 2004 I have designed and made hundreds of costumes for various occasions such as full length classical ballets, dance competitions, and professional productions.

As well as making costumes, I am a fully qualified Dance Teacher. I have completed all of my RAD ballet examinations from Pre Primary to Grade 8 Award, and Pre Elementary to Advanced 2, and I have been awarded my ARAD.

I have also completed Southern Federation of Dance Tap and Jazz exams from levels 4-10.

In 2005 I completed my Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management at Box Hill TAFE, Victoria, Australia. I also hold Tap and Jazz Teaching certificates with the Southern Federation of Dance.

I currently teach the RAD Higher and Vocational Grades at Dance Warehouse in Canterbury.
I believe that my experience in dancing and dance teaching helps me understand what a dancer needs in a costume. Customers always comment on how 'comfortable' their costumes are - I believe to perform well, a dancer must feel comfortable (and fabulous!) in what they are wearing!
